One of my favorite things about living here is the amazing snorkeling! We happen to live water front to the most amazing snorkeling in the world. There is a HUGE coral reef at coconut point. The cool thing about it is that there are no waves that break past the reef. So you can snorkel all you want and not worry about being pounded by a wave. The scary thing about being a surfer here is that the coral is everywhere. If you hit it hard enough, it slices you like a knife. Jamie has the wounds to prove it! This is not the place to learn how to surf. Even experienced surfers get cut out here all the time. Me, being the non experienced water person on island, I choose to stay away from pounding waves at all costs! Snorkeling here is a safe haven for me. I still get a little bugged out when we go into deep water though. The coral just gets bigger, and so do the fish!! You feel like you're in their world and it's freaky to think that you can't just run away if you wanted to. At the end of the day, I suck in my fear and get in the water. This place is teaming with wild life. So many different colored fish! It's phenomenal. Jameson brought the underwater camera on this trip. These pics don't do it justice! You're just going to have to come out and visit us and see for yourself. :)
I have to work on my underwater "snorkel smile". ;)
A black sea cucumber! They look freaky but they are completely harmless. You can pick them up!
