I had my first staff meeting the day after I arrived. Everyone was so welcoming and accepting of me. They offered me soda which I respectively accepted ;). I didn't want to be rude ok! It melted in about 5minutes anyways, soaking the table. I was the only rookie who didn't put a napkin under my drink. I won't make the mistake again! The meeting was short and sweet. The school doesn't have AC so the doors were open with fans running at all times. All the sudden, a stray dog just walked in and laid down in middle of the room. Nobody flinched! It took every ounce of me to act casual, like no big deal this animal is disrupting this meeting. Soon after a chicken cruises in, all casual. You have got to be kidding me. They quickly shooed the chicken away. So dogs are cool but not chickens? Note to self! Haha Can't wait to start though! I'll be teaching high school writing at Pacific Horizons Private School on January 6th! Woo!! Still waiting to hear back from Argosy University for my second job. Things move slower around here than usual but it will happen! Just gotta be patient. :)
