Beach for Days

Yesterday, we spent the day at $2 Dollar Beach. It's name is self explanatory, except on somedays it's $5 dollars to get in instead of $2. Odd! At any rate, the beach is fabulous! Straight out of a hawaiian story book fairy tale. Crystal clear waters, giant mountains covered in the most beautiful greenery you've ever seen! They had these Fale's so you can sit under them. Fale is the Samoan word for "house". But these aren't houses like back home. They are open and designed to mimic the character of Samoan culture. They are typically circular, held up by posts. We sat under a Fale eating BLT sandwiches on hawaiian bread, with maui onion chips. It was delicious. Since this was considered a palagi beach we were able to wear our bikinis, which was a definite plus! All the palagi's love to go here. Not only does it have an amazing view, it has a bar too! You can drink on all the beaches here in Samoa. You just have to be careful during Sa. It was a great day, however the sun was harsh! I got my first taste of sunburn on my chest. It showed no mercy on Jameson's face either. Sunblock is an absolute must! But I can't complain. This will be my first sunburn in December! :)

A Fale by our house.
