Back in Cali, Sunday was always called "Sunday Funday" because thats the day to fire up the BBQ and crack open a beer and go to the beach. Here, we have to make up our own fun. Our friend Bob asked if we wanted to go paddling to a palagi restaurant called, Sadies. We jumped at the chance to get out of the house! We loaded up the 2-person kayak on top of our Ford and headed out! We parked at Faga'alu park and headed for the boat dock. We would launch our kayak off and paddle to Sadies (about a 40 min paddle). I had the front end of the kayak and Jameson was holding the back. I started walking onto the cement boat ramp when all the sudden, I slip horribly falling straight on my back. Both feet literally propelled into the air! I dropped the kayak and before I knew it was on the ground. haha!! Jameson was so worried, he rushed by my side asking if I was ok. Luckily, I didn't smack my head on the cement. I started laughing because I have never fallen like that in my life. hahaha! I was okay! Didn't get hurt. Just a little scared! Whewf. That could have been bad. We brushed it off and had the most amazing kayak adventure! The water was calm and smooth. Easy to stroke with the paddle. The coral was absolutely phenomenal. Out of this world!! The water is sooo clear, you can see all the fish up close and personal. I saw the most beautiful turquoise, yellow, blue, green fish just glowing from under me. I feel myself being less afraid. I'm really starting to love this ocean! Maybe i'll graduate to going under the water with my snorkel instead of just floating on the top. But hey, let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Baby steps!! ;)

Sunday Funday
I always wonder what we will do when Sunday comes around. First of all, Sunday in Samoa is nothing like Sunday in Cali. Sunday is reserved for church. The local Samoan's are very traditional and conservative here. Most wear their Sunday whites, which consists of a white button up shirt and a white ie' (pronounced eee-ay) tied around like skirt. Yes, both men and women wear this! And always, especially on Sunday, cover your shoulders, chest, and knees. There is absolutely NO ALCOHOL sold on island on Sundays. Jameson learned quickly and always stocks up the night before to avoid this. Most shops on island are closed as well. So what is there to do you might ask?! Well, from my short time here I've noticed a trend of men sleeping in fale's during the day taking very long naps. They don't have a pillow or a blanket. Just concrete and shade. All passed out. Usually wearing just a lava lava. No shoes. haha! Well that doesn't sound like very fun. So since there isn't any alcohol and nothing is open... what should we do?
