Manuia Le Karisimasi!

My first tropical Christmas! Jameson and I were so busy buying Christmas presents for everyone back home that we forgot about ourselves! Jameson's mom made us promise that we wrap presents for each other and put it under our little 2 foot Christmas tree. That way, we had something to open on Christmas day. :) We rushed to the store last minute and got each other gifts.  I told Jameson I wanted to take Christmas pictures with Santa hats on to send back home. I didn't think he would actually go for it but sure enough, he came home with 2 Santa hats! haha success! We didn't bring the tri-pod from back home and felt too embarrassed to ask the neighbors to take our picture down by the water. Especially since they are all guys. So we devised a plan! Jameson brought down a stool from our kitchen that we would stand the camera on. After setting up the perfect shot, Jamie hit the camera timer and we took these amazing shots! I even found a blue star fish right by feet. I don't usually mess around with the marine life here but it was too beautiful to pass up! I picked it up out of the water and took some pics! There are SO MANY blue star fish here. They are so easy to spot because they practically glow in the water. Even though I've seen about 30 blue star fish here, I still feel the urgency to yell, "Look! A blue star fish!!" every time. lol. The beauty gets me! ;)

We spent Christmas day at our friend Doctor Mike's house. We had a feast!! I made green bean casserole and Doc Mike bought a huge New York steak (hard to come by here) and wrapped it in bacon. It was incredible!.. Incredible if you were a carnivore. If you are a veg head, you would have loved the butternut squash and fresh yams! Someone brought a deep fryer and started deep frying twinkies, twix, and oreos!! That's where I drew the line. After eating all day, I couldn't take another bite! Ok Ok.. fine. I had ONE twix. But that's it! ;) We ended the night with some adorable Christmas carolers! A group of Fijians sang to us with candles wearing their lava lava's and slippas. A Christmas I'll never forget!
