TALOFA JON!

Jon is here!! Its so awesome to see a familiar face here with us in Samoa. Jameson and I have been counting down the days for Jon's arrival! We absolutely LOVE visitors! The ticket to Samoa is pretty steep, a good $1,500, maybe $1,300 if you're lucky. We tell all our family and friends that they just have to pay for their ticket and we've got everything else. When you break it all down, its actually a pretty good deal considering how far and remote you are traveling! You have a free place to stay with your own bedroom, equipped with an AC Unit right on the beach. You also don't have to pay for a rental car or rent any snorkeling equipment, kayaks, stand up paddle boards.. We got that all covered! ;)
Jon is having a blast!! So far we have taken him kayaking, snorkeling, and hiking!! He keeps telling us how lucky we are and how he can't believe we live here. Its so funny because even paradise becomes a bit redundant. Having Jon here has completely recharged my perspective. I see his genuine appreciation for this beauty we call home. It makes Jameson and I want to stay for even longer! Jon keeps telling us, ".. the same old thing is happening at home, you're not missing much!" What a bitter sweet statement that was for me. I'm so bitter because my heart yearns for family, friends, and familiarity. I make myself completely homesick just thinking about how much I miss it on a daily basis. But then Jon reminds me of the inevitable. My home isn't going anywhere. My family and friends will be there when I get back! Enjoy your life and this unique opportunity. I think I'll do just that. Maybe just maybe.. We will come home much later than anticipated. :) (sorry mom! You can thank Jon for that! Haha)

Welcome Ula (flower lei) for Jon's arrival!
