Love our village❤

American Samoa doesn't have cities or zip codes. The entire island is 26 miles across. We all share 1 zip code, 1 area code, and like in the states, 1 capital (Pago Pago). The island is made up of villages. We live in the village of Nu'uuli. We are located in the central part of the island. Nu'uuli is one of the biggest villages on the island. Since its so big, there are smaller villages located in Nu'uuli. Jameson and I live in a village called, Coconut Point in Nu'uuli.

Coconut point is simply amazing. It sits beach front and has an amazing tree house out front. We love it here! Last weekend, all of the village kids came out to play. They love hanging out with us palagis. Jameson was fishing off the tree house and the kids just circled him. I came up and started talking to them. They are all Bilingual so I started asking them to teach me Samoan. They taught me all the colors. They even giggled when I couldn't get the accent right. One of the kids was named "Karol". A boy who is being raised as a fafafine, the third gender here in Samoa. Fafafine's are born as male but live as females, dressing like females and acting like females. They are said to have both the male and female spirits. I love this part about living here. Experiencing different cultures. There is so much more to life than the big and powerful United States. So much to learn. So much to understand. I'm just so grateful I get to experience that first hand. 🌓❤
