Post tsunami

In 2009, American Samoa was hit by a devastating tsunami that absolutely destroyed the west and east side of the island. The west side (Leone), was hit the hardest. Many schools were greatly affected. Alataua Elementary was one of the elementary schools that had some of their classrooms destroyed.  FEMA came in to do damage control. They donated large dome like structures equipped with AC to provide optimal learning environments for their kiddos.
On Tuesday, I went to Alataua Elementary to conduct a referral on a kiddo that was having some behavioral issues in the classroom. We drove almost an hour to get there. It was the most beautiful day! Sun was shining, water was beyond beautiful. Alataua sits beach front (of course). I walked up only to notice the peculiar dome shaped classrooms in the distance. They were so big!! And odd looking! I quickly asked what those structures were for. The teachers replied, "They gave it to us. From the tsunami. God is good." Can you believe that? 6 years later, these structures still stand! My heart melted. The world is a cruel evil place at times. But how incredible it can be in times of need. ❤❤❤

This cracks me up every time! No slippas allowed in class!

The view! Can you imagine going to school beach front!? These kids don't know how good they got it.
