24 Hour "Flu"

This past weekend was one for the books. I have never in my LIFE been so sick! I seriously contemplated driving myself to the hospital and using my handy Medicaid hospital card. Everyone on the island is covered by Medicaid, which means every visit costs a flat rate of $10. You break your arm, $10 bucks. You have a baby, $10 bucks. Made it really easy for me to want to go and seek medical treatment, ASAP! And I probably would have, if I could actually drive!
It all started when Jameson left me to go to another workshop in Palau (a magical island by the Philippines, Google it! You'll be so glad you did) for 10 days. I was feeling so sick while he was packing. I held it together and made it to the airport. After that, it was all downhill! The worst 24 hours EVER. I had chills, fever, cough, sniffles, horrible body aches, the works! Even my teeth and my eye ball sockets hurt. I couldn't believe how much pain I was in. I literally tossed and turned all night long. I put on socks, pants, and 2 pairs of shirts and was still cold! You know you're sick when you reach for a pair of socks in Samoa! Trust me, that NEVER happens!! haha! I ended up taking a Benedryl at 3am, from sheer desperation for sleep. Luckily, it did the trick and I ended up sleeping til 11am. Woke up for some breakfast, then took another pill. Slept til 4:30pm! There was literally nothing else my body could do but rest. I felt like I just got hit by a train. After the 24 hours of hell, I started to feel like a normal person again. Needless to say, I did it! I survived the Samoan 24 Hour Flu! I think I've nearly earned my stripes now. ;) Im happy I won't have to miss work. Back to the grind tomorrow!
