Samoan Dancing!
Last Friday was Performing Arts Festival at my school, Pacific Horizons! Every year, all the students must perform dances in each of their classes. Every single student is required to be involved, including the teachers! I walked into work one morning to be greeted by my director asking why I wasn't at dance practice. Lol dance practice? I had no idea what she was talking about. Since I only teach 1 class, it's easy for me to fall out of the loop! She told me that I had to dance a Samoan traditional dance and get a puletasi/dress made by next Friday. I almost didn't believe her! A puletasi made?! A puletasi is a traditional samoan top and long skirt that must be sewn by one of the several sewing shops on island. I don't own a puletasi yet so it was a perfect excuse to get one made! I headed to dance practice which actually, turned out to be quite entertaining. :) I miss performing routines! The last time I performed a routine, I was in high school! My cheerleading skills came into play, I learned the routine in 1 practice! haha! Jameson was so excited for me to perform too. He told me he wanted to videotape, which I thought was absolutely adorable. lol. He was so supportive and happy to be there. I almost got all choked up as we watched the little "guppies" (kindergarteners) perform their dance because Jameson had the biggest smile on his face. He filmed them, cheered, clapped, and laughed. I couldn't help but think what an amazing father he will be to our children one day... ONE DAY is the key word here. haha! I'm not ready for a child just yet. But I know one thing. I most definitely want to have a baby in my near future with this most amazing man in my life. I feel so blessed. <3
